Intelligence Report: The Findings on Frictionless Energy

Welcome back to the briefing room.
If you caught my last post, you know we recently launched a Scouting Mission. We went out into the field: the high-pressure, high-stakes landscape of corporate leadership and high-achiever lifestyles: to find where the energy is going. We were looking for the "leaks" in the system, those invisible cracks in the foundation that leave us feeling depleted even when we think we’ve checked all the right boxes.
The data is in. The intelligence has been analyzed. And the results are, quite frankly, a game-changer for how we look at our daily lives.
We’ve officially moved past the era of simple "efficiency." Welcome to The Coordination Century.
The Shift: From Efficiency to Coordination
For decades, the mantra was simple: do more, faster. We obsessed over efficiency. We optimized our schedules, we hacked our sleep, and we downloaded every productivity app under the sun. But here’s the thing: you can be the most efficient person in the world and still be absolutely exhausted.
Why? Because efficiency is about speed, but coordination is about flow.
In my background in logistics, I learned that a truck moving at 80 miles per hour is useless if it’s headed toward a blocked warehouse. You can have the fastest "engine" in the world (your brain and your ambition), but if the "supply chain" of your energy is riddled with friction, you’re just spinning your tires in the mud.
The Coordination Century requires a different set of tools. It’s not about how fast you can respond to an email; it’s about how that email interacts with your nervous system, your focus, and your long-term goals. We aren't looking for "more" energy anymore; we are looking for Frictionless Energy.
The Findings: Identifying the Friction Points
Our intelligence report identified three primary "Energy Leaks" that are currently plaguing high achievers. These aren't the big, obvious stressors: they are the subtle, constant points of friction that disrupt your internal supply chain.
1. The "Quick" Ping Paradox We’ve been led to believe that Teams messages, Slack notifications, and "quick" phone calls are efficient. They aren't. Every time a notification pops up, your brain undergoes a "context switch." It takes energy to pull out of a task, process the ping, and attempt to dive back in. These aren't just messages; they are micro-interruptions that create massive drag on your cognitive fuel.
2. The Invisible Logistics of Life For those of us in demanding roles, we often forget that our personal lives have a supply chain too. Coordinating childcare, managing household schedules, and navigating social obligations without a clear "energy budget" leads to what I call Decision Fatigue Friction. By the time you sit down to do your actual work, you’ve already spent 40% of your daily "fuel" on the logistics of existing.
3. The Emotional Echo This is a big one. It’s the energy we spend ruminating on a difficult conversation or anticipating a stressful meeting. This friction doesn't happen in the moment; it happens in the "echo" of the event. It’s like leaving the lights on in a warehouse overnight: nothing is being produced, but the meter is still running.

Phase 1: Recognize – The First Pillar of the Metacognitive Energy Method™
To combat this friction, we use the Metacognitive Energy Method™. While there are several pillars to this framework, today I want to focus exclusively on the most critical starting point: Phase 1: Recognize.
You cannot fix what you cannot see. In the world of logistics, we use sensors to track cargo and monitor engine health. In your life, you are the sensor.
"Recognize" is about developing the high-level awareness to spot friction the moment it enters your field. It’s the ability to pause and say, "Wait, my heart rate just spiked because of that Teams notification," or "I’m feeling a slump because I’ve been in back-to-back meetings without a hydration break."
Most high achievers pride themselves on "powering through." We treat our bodies like machines that should just work. But true frictionless energy comes from observing the machine in real-time.
When you start to Recognize, you stop being a victim of your schedule and start being the dispatcher of your energy. You begin to see the "red flags" before they turn into full-blown burnout.

The 3-Point Framework: The Intelligence in Action
In my coaching, we often work through a simplified version of the Metacognitive Energy Method™ to help clients handle immediate stressors. It looks like this:
Recognize: Spot the friction. (Where is the leak?)
Regulate: Calm the system. (How do we stabilize the pressure?)
Respond / Redirect: Choose the path. (Where should this energy go instead?)
While we’ll dive deeper into Regulate and Respond in future reports, Recognize is where the magic happens.
Think about your last "Energy Leak." Maybe it was an email that stayed in your head all through dinner. Did you recognize it at the moment? Or did you only realize it three hours later when you were too tired to enjoy your evening?
When we build the "Recognize" muscle, we start to see the logistics of our lifeforce in high definition. We see the internal supply chain for what it is: a delicate system that requires care, maintenance, and strategic planning.
Why High Achievers Struggle with Friction
If you have a background in logistics, engineering, or high-level management, you’re likely a pro at fixing external systems. You can spot a bottleneck in a production line from a mile away. You can optimize a shipping route with your eyes closed.
But we often have a blind spot when it comes to our internal systems. We apply "20th-century efficiency" to our "21st-century nervous systems," and we wonder why we feel like we’re running on empty.
Frictionless energy isn't about working less. It’s about working differently. It’s about ensuring that every ounce of effort you put in actually results in forward motion, rather than being lost to the heat of friction.

Your Mission: The Energy Audit
As part of this Intelligence Report, I want to give you a small scouting mission of your own. For the next 24 hours, I want you to focus purely on Phase 1: Recognize.
Don't try to fix anything yet. Don't try to change your schedule. Just watch.
Recognize the feeling in your chest when your phone pings.
Recognize the slump in your shoulders after a certain meeting.
Recognize the mental "fog" that sets in after 3:00 PM.
Once you start recognizing these patterns, you’ve already taken the first step toward a frictionless life. You are moving from being a passenger in your life to being the Lead Energy Architect.
Let’s Build Your Frictionless Strategy
If you’re feeling like your internal supply chain is a bit tangled, you don’t have to untie the knots alone. At LG Energy Coaching, we specialize in helping high-performing individuals navigate the transition from "exhausted efficiency" to "frictionless flow."
Whether you’re interested in a deep dive via our Energy Leadership Course or you want to start with a more restorative approach like our Guided Meditation sessions, we have the tools to help you recalibrate.
The Coordination Century is here. Are you ready to lead it with energy to spare? 🚀
If you have questions about the findings in this report or want to share what you’ve recognized in your own "scouting mission," I’d love to hear from you. You can reach me directly at lauren@lg-energycoaching.com.
Let’s keep the energy flowing.
Warmly,
Lauren Guidry Owner and Energy Coach, LG Energy Coaching
